We accept the Canadian Dental Care Program (CDCP)!
At Trelawny Dental Centre we are accepting the CDCP program and we always welcome new patients!
What is CDCP?
The CDCP is a new federal program designed to help cover the cost of dental care for Canadians who do not have private dental insurance. It provides partial or full coverage for a wide range of dental treatment.
Who is eligible for CDCP?
In order to qualify for this program, individuals must:
• Not have a private dental coverage
• Have an adjusted family income of less than $90,000 annually
• Be a Canadian resident
• Have filed their tax return for the previous year
How much is covered by this plan?
• Household income of $70,000 or less – 100% coverage (no co-pay)
• Household income of $70,000 – $79,999 – 40% patient co-pay
• Household income of $80,000 – $89,999 – 60% patient co-pay


How do I apply for CDCP?
Applications are directly handled through Service Canada. You can also directly apply online, by mail or phone.

What procedures are covered by CDCP?
Most routine dental services and preventive care are covered by CDCP.
This includes:
• Dental exam and cleanings
• X-rays
• Fillings
• Root canals
• Extractions
• Dentures
• Preventive services such as scaling and fluoride
This plan does not cover implants, braces and whitening at this time
How often can I use this plan?
The frequency is similar to most private dental plans.
Regular exams and cleanings are covered every 6-12 months
Fillings, extraction and other treatments as required
Dentures and complex treatment have specific time limits.
